MS IT Showcase: A robust reporting portal built on Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007

We haven't posted much content on this blog about the BDC, Report Center, or the BI webparts in SharePoint Server, so I was very glad to see the MS IT Showcase content being published recently for an internal BI portal called MyBI.

MyBI is a centrally hosted, customizable portal solution for all of Microsoft’s business analysis needs. From reports, key productivity indicators (KPIs), and scorecards to other metrics, employees now have the rich BI information needed to gain greater business insight in a single place. The easy-to-use interface of Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 and seamless integration with various Microsoft BI products enable employees to view and organize their reports with ease, or use OLAP Analytics with ProClarity or Standard Structured Reports using Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services. Users can also implement the use of scorecards with Microsoft Office Business Scorecard Manager and/or Excel.

The IT Showcase content is here, and there's a (Level 200) overview and demo webcast scheduled for February 1, 2007 at 11AM PST.

For community Q&A and discussion about implementing SharePoint for BI oriented solutions, please go to this SharePoint forum.

An aside: There's another (Level 300) IT Showcase webcast that you shouldn't miss, which is about "How MS IT manages the world's largest SharePoint deployment," scheduled Feburary 6, 2007 at 9:30AM PST.

Another aside: A screencast demo was recently added to the MS IT Showcase of our internal records management solution that is well worth watching.

What about BizTalk? The existing adapter is very limited and as MOSS becomes a first-class enterprise application, we need to do some real integration. Can you tell me if there are any plans for an updated adapter?

# MOSS and Friends: Route 66 through the ECM/BPM Intersection?

There's no doubt that Microsoft understands the value and opportunity in the ECM/BPM intersection. It is also clear that the roads MOSS will use to get there are not confined to small neighborhoods, hence the reference to the U.S.' most...
