DoD 5015.2 certification for MOSS 2007 -- we've passed the test!

Since we posted the status update back in mid March about our pursuit of the DoD 5012.2 certification, many of you have become very anxious to find out whether or not we've passed the test that we had been scheduled to take on May 14th. Well, I'm extremely pleased to announce that we have indeed passed the test! So, MOSS 2007 is now officially DoD 5015.2 certified!

The summary and detailed test reports are still being finalized by the U.S. Joint Interoperability Test Command and will soon be available for download at http://jitc.fhu.disa.mil/recmgt/mcmosps/index.html.

Later this year, we will release a free add-on pack that extends MOSS 2007's records management capabilities in appropriate ways so that customers and partners can deploy DoD 5015.2 compliant solutions in production environments.

[Update: More info on the ECM Team Blog from Adam Harmetz, Program Manager for Records Management capabilities in MOSS. Also, the official press release is here.]

We are in the process of configuring the repository for a brand new installation (full replacement of 2003).  Can you provide some guidance on configuring that will allow the best implementation of the plug-ins at a later date?

Thanks,

Bill

# re: DoD 5015.2 certification for MOSS 2007 -- we've passed the test!

I just need to clarify something. MOSS2007 without the add-on pack is not DoD 5015.2-STD compliant.  It is the add-on pack that provides the bulk of the functionality to make it compliant.

Thanks,

jana

Jana- no need to clarify. The blog post was very clear on this point. It clearly states that "we will release a free add-on pack that extends MOSS 2007's records management capabilities in appropriate ways so that customers and partners can deploy DoD 5015.2 compliant solutions."

The JITC site has the detailed certification report published as of 8/24/07 but available only to gov't agencies.  Will Microsoft post the report?

We are trying out MOSS 07 on a test PC and we're really interested in the records mgmt. capability.  We've recently learned that the DoD5015 add-on, while expanding some capabilities, disables other features that we are currently using in the test environment.  Please elaborate on this.
