Important hotfixes for upcoming Daylight Savings Time (DST) change
Well, it's almost that time of the year again when many of us need to update our clocks as a result of Daylight Savings Time (DST). The U.S. Energy Policy Act of 2005 requires extending the period of DST by four weeks. Starting this year, DST began in March, three weeks earlier in much of the United States and Canada, and will end one week later – the first Sunday in November. We had blogged here about the need to update your SharePoint servers with respective hotfixes back in January. While these changes were designed as an energy conservation measure for the environment, they have had less than desirable effects on IT organizations. :-)
In addition to DST changes in North America, there will be time changes in Jordan, Egypt, New Zealand and Western Australia that were not accounted for in the previous DST related hotfixes or software releases.
