Important hotfixes for upcoming Daylight Savings Time (DST) change

Well, it's almost that time of the year again when many of us need to update our clocks as a result of Daylight Savings Time (DST). The U.S. Energy Policy Act of 2005 requires extending the period of DST by four weeks. Starting this year, DST began in March, three weeks earlier in much of the United States and Canada, and will end one week later – the first Sunday in November. We had blogged here about the need to update your SharePoint servers with respective hotfixes back in January. While these changes were designed as an energy conservation measure for the environment, they have had less than desirable effects on IT organizations. :-)

In addition to DST changes in North America, there will be time changes in Jordan, Egypt, New Zealand and Western Australia that were not accounted for in the previous DST related hotfixes or software releases.

We strongly recommend that you install the latest updates for SharePoint as described in the following links:

For the overall listing of Microsoft product updates related to DST changes, go to: http://support.microsoft.com/dst2007.

Is this latest update required if your server was patched with the DST update back in March?

I, for one can live with an hour or two inaccuracy compared to an unavailable server.

Note:

The above Forum post was not mine - their symptoms matched mine.

That makes 2 servers toasted.

# re: Important hotfixes for upcoming Daylight Savings Time (DST) change

The documentation and blogs for the DST update or is it hotfix? is pretty damn confusing and contradictory. Or is it just me?

PS, just because something is a blog, does it hove to be so user unfriendly to read and navigate?

# re: Important hotfixes for upcoming Daylight Savings Time (DST) change

I have loaded MOSS 2007.  I have installed SP1 for WSS and SP1 for MOSS 2007.  I have found many hot fixes out there and I am wondering does anyone have the whole list of hot fixes and updates for MOSS 2007?
