Microsoft Interactive Media Manager - a Digital Asset Management solution built on top of MOSS 2007
The Microsoft Interactive Media Manager (IMM) is a collaborative media management solution that extends Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 with enhanced workflow and a powerful metadata framework. It's an excellent example of the types of enterprise scale, advanced business solutions that can be built atop the SharePoint platform. This past weekend, Kirk Evans (a Microsoft Architect Evangelist) posted a Channel 9 video of his interview with Mark Kashman (Product Manager for IMM) in which Mark discusses the solution architecture (see diagram below), goes over the key features, and provides a sneak preview of the Silverlight enhanced next version of IMM that will be announced at the upcoming National Association of Broadcasters conference on April 11-17.
