XNA Unleashed

Every few years I find myself hankering to write a book, but whenever I start seriously thinking about the idea I realize how much work it would be and get scared off.

The next best thing to writing a book of my own, though, is reviewing one by somebody else. That way I get to be all opinionated and critical of the things I don't like, but without having to actually put any real work into it myself :-)

I recently did some technical reviewing for XNA Unleashed by Chad Carter. This is now on its way to the printers, and I'm looking forward to seeing how the final thing turned out. It has a foreword by Tom Miller, which I have yet to read even though he sits just down the hall from me!

So, you should all go buy a copy. I won't get any money from it, but I presume Chad will, and he deserves it. It's a good book.

Shawn, have you gotten a chance to look over the two current released books? And if so how does XNA Unleashed compare in content?

Shawn,

Thanks for the kind words.  It means a lot comging from you.  I just got a copy of the book today!  They are arriving at warehouses and so Amazon should start shipping them out soon.  Book stores should have them by next week I think.  I heard the delay had to do with it being printed at the same facility they were printing the Harry Potter books -- go figure!

This book would not be what it is without Shawn's comments!  He did a fantastic job in being the technical editor of this book.  Basically, if it is good - then it is because of Shawn.  If it is bad, then it is because I ignored his advice! :)

Thanks again Shawn!

Chad
