I originally turned off anonymous comments because I was getting a ridiculous amount of spam, and couldn't be bothered wading through it all to delete it. Requiring a login to comment took care of all that. But you're right, this could be cutting off legitimate commentors as well. I'll try turning anonymous commenting back on for a while and see if the situation has changed since I last tried it. No promises, though! :-)&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Yeah. Unfortunately Ito spotted that this was out of date slightly too late to get it fixed in time for the 3.1 release.&lt;/p&gt;
