And this has *what*, exactly to do with the Patriot Act? There's no indication that *any* changes in law or homeland security policy had anything to do with this story. Sounds to me like she had the misfortune to encounter a border patrol agent with an attitude. But AFAIK, this could just as easily have happened before 9/11 as after.

If you want to post a criticism of the Patriot Act, be my guest. But it would be more effective if you posted a more substantive critique.

Thanks for reading this, and I never said the situation had anything at all to do w/ the Patriot Act. What I said was, "..inspire folks to openly question things LIKE the Patriot Act." I never claimed to be making a critique of the Patriot Act.

Also, I certainly appreciate you giving me permission to post my opinions to my blog. I will certainly take advantage of that offer in the future.

I'm sorry this makes you embarrased to be an American. This can happen in any country. But not every country will give you the ability to speak out openly against it, and give you the power to affect change.
