Silverlight looks great... when it comes to I18N it seems to have (at least the sample SilverTime application) the same issue with Polish dates as Java does. Is that a coincidence?

Not sure what issue with Polish you're describing.  And my app was a quick hack.  I haven't had time to investigate daylight savings or other issues.
