I read the FAQ from Steve Lasker and I noticed that it will not support transactional replication.  If this is correct, are there any plans to change this?

No, not at this time.  Transactional Replication is not typically used for the scenarios where we plan to use SQL/e.  Transactional Replication is typically used for warm back type servers where there's a good connection between the two servers.  The scenarios we're targeting are around Occasionally Connected clients.  In this case, the client sends and receives the last change, or the current state.
