Ideally the tools would have been better by now, but they aren't, so I wanted to share an easy way to get items created the way you want them to be with a lot less cut and paste. I found myself building a new development VPC for building MOSS samples today only to realize that we have blocked the installation of MOSS RTM on Server 2008 in favor of MOSS SP1. The issue with that is we don't yet have the MOSS with SP1 builds out there, so you will have to slip your own to get it installed. The new Tools, Microsoft RML Utilities for SQL Server 9.0, will support 2000 and 2005 file formats. For those who used the SQL Server Performance Analysis Utilities Read80Trace and OSTRESS ( See KB887057 ) these tools are new to 2005. The older tools are still available of you have not yet, or cannot yet upgrade to 2005 as well.
