She's Geeky - Monday

Published 23 October 07 04:47 AM | llangit

What a fun day I've had - 200 women geeks at the Computer History Museum in San Jose, CA for the first-ever She's Geeky unConference.  Today's highlight for me was the talk by futurist Melanie Swan - here's here mind-blowing deck.

Another fun thing was the 'wall of women' - we all got our pictures taken and the we posted up some information, so that we could find out about the other people for meet-ups.

Err... actually you were in Mountain View, not San Jose.

Did you drop by the Silicon Valley Campus? It's right down the street. We have the best cafeteria of all Microsoft Cafeterias. :)

Nice to see you've finally found a few hundred others of your tribe.  I live with a geeky female, and she usually labors with males in the tech vineyards.

Now we need some FemGeekCamps around the world.

Ok, Ok - Dennis - Mountain View it is.  I will be over at the SVC campus on Th/Fri, I am speaking at the Women@Microsoft conference there (building 1, I think) - stop by and say 'hi' if you have time

Dick - the 'geeky' conference organizers are actually planning to replicate this format to London and NYC
