Application Object Tree ( AOT )
The Application Object Tree is the backbone of Dynamics Ax and holds all the objects and Meta data about the application and tools for CRUD. From Data dictionary through business logic and all the way to user interface is defined and stored at this one place. The application object layers hold everything in AOT. AOT is a tree view of this information presented in an explorer like hierarchical view. These application objects could be exported and imported for back up , moving objects between different installations etc.
