Interested in Searching Documentum & FileNet with SharePoint?

Some of my customers have investment in EMC Documentum and IBM FileNet for records management for a subset of their user community.  Most either have SharePoint in house or evaluating it for collaborative ECM scenarios.

I have regular conversations with my customers around integration of their record management with SharePoint.  This is mostly due to the excitement around the ease of use of the SharePoint user interface and its integration to Office client.  For example you can not only search from SharePoint web UI but search Documentum via this connector from within Microsoft Word.  That is an awesome experience.

In addition the SharePoint Search Center in combination with federated search is a best in class search experience.

Microsoft Enterprise Search Indexing Connectors (formally known as Protocol Handlers) for EMC Documentum 5.3 (Service Pack 4) and IBM FileNet P8 3.5.1 or 3.5.2 are now available.

Announcement is at http://blogs.msdn.com/enterprisesearch/archive/2008/05/27/announcing-release-to-web-of-documentum-and-filenet-indexing-connectors.aspx
