MSS 2004 and SQL Server Reporting Services 2005
Update (May 17, 20007): KB articles have been published and links added inline.
There are a couple of issues that may prevent the MSS 2004 Basic Reports from working out-of-the-box with SQL Server Reporting Services 2005. We will soon be publishing a formal Knowledge Base article with suggested workarounds, but in the meantime, here's what's going on:
- Log data import: while a migrated DTS import package should work fine, the MssLogToDatabase command line utility doesn't recognize a SQL 2005 Reporting Services installation. Here's the article.
- Report data: some MSS 2004 R2 Basic Reports show 'No data' when the Language filter holds '%' as a value. The simplest workaround is to specify a different value for the Language parameter (e.g. en-US for an English query), but here's the article for a more complete solution.
