SR in today's WSJ
Jeremy Wagstaff is a columnist for the Wall Street Journal, whose article today is titled “Speaking Up for Voice Recognition”.
The gist is that SR is good at what it does, but is still a niche (and may always be). He adds this:
“NaturallySpeaking is probably the best software out there for this kind of thing, but that may not be the case for long. Microsoft is beefing up this area -- Japanese academic Sadaoki Furui says Bill Gates told him recently he was enthusiastic about making speech the basic interface between us and computers.”
He also gives a nice plug for Scott Weinstein's www.speechwiki.org.
