No more H1-B Visas!?!?

Federal officials said Friday that all 65,000 of next fiscal year's H-1B visas for skilled foreign workers have been snapped up, the earliest that has ever happened.

I heard about this in a message from our recruiters today and it's terrible! We have a very hard time finding technically-skilled people for lots of our open positions, and expanding the pool to include non-Americans is often the only way we can fill our jobs. I'm as loyal an American as they come, but I also want to build competitive software, and that means getting the best and brightest no matter where they were born. This is especially an issue in speech & natural language because we tend to value people who are multi-lingual--and it's hard to find Americans with language skills.
