Portugal Day 2

Whew! I spent my entire second day helping out at the Microsoft booth and then working on my presentation.  Ciprian Chelba is demoing some of his work on audio search, and I helped arrange for him to get a laptop and speakers from the Microsoft office here in Lisbon. His demo runs on .Net, and it works fine on the Windows Vista beta machine, but sometimes the audio drivers are a little twitchy, so I had to rush over to the conference center in the morning for that.

I had another wonderful meal at a small cafe just outside the CCB.  Boy I love Portuguese food!

Most of the Microsoft guys went to the Interspeech banquet after today’s sessions, but I went straight to my hotel room to work on tomorrow’s presentation. Fil came and helped me until late, and we didn’t get to sleep till after midnight.  But things are looking good!  I can’t wait to see how many people show up.
