I survived the China visit

The campus is pretty much back to normal today, after all the commotion over yesterday's visit by President Hu.

I had some trouble getting back to my building after attending a weekly Office meeting across the street (and not far from the Home of the Future, where the Chinese delegation was visiting).  When I tried to enter through the back door I always take, these two people were waiting for me:

See those big guns they're carrying? When I swiped my badge to go inside, the guy on the left tried to follow me inside!  Microsoft policy strictly forbids letting anybody "tailgate" through a door without a valid badge, but this guy had a gun.  What was I supposed to do, tell him no?

Fortunately his partner called him back and said they needed to go a different way, so I didn't need to call security or anything.

See what we have to endure in order to bring you Vista and the new versions of Office and Speech Server?
