Beta-testing Office and Windows
I've been using the 2007 Office pre-release versions for several months, and now that it's been released in Beta2, so can you. Download a free copy from the Office web site and try it out. I have it installed on most of my machines, including the TabletPC where I do most of my work at home. I'm almost ready to install it on my home machines, since I've now upgraded everything to 1GB. There are a few glitches remaining, but I still find it preferable to the dinosaur version. Some of my favorite features: a redesigned font that makes documents look new and different, the built-in blogging tool in Word, and of course the context-sensitive spelling that my team does.
I'm running Vista too, but until today it's only been on a partition of my drive. I use it as much as possible but just haven't taken the plunge to turn it into my main machine. Well, now that's changed. I was having some glitches getting wireless to work, and some of the other Tablet features weren't quite there either, but today I upgraded my BIOS and it all works! Goodbye XP!
