Speech in the WSJ

This morning's Wall Street Journal has a report about ways cell phone companies try to get you to use more of their features.  There are short mentions of Voicebox and PrompTu, plus a nice blurb about Windows Mobile and Voice Command.

We are so close to solving the accuracy problems: our developers and researchers love nothing more than to pick apart any of the new scenarios you give them (car noise, living room echos, etc.) and come up with surprisingly good results.  The real trick is to put it in a UI that makes sense and can help on a particular task.  That's why I'm watching companies like UIEvolution and mPortal (also mentioned in the article) to see what new ways they can come up with to present the information in a way that makes sense to users.
