Interspeech and the Company Meeting

Chuck Opperman is back from Pittsburgh, where he was doing some Vista demos to attendees at Interspeech.  I was at the one in Lisbon last year but I'm not nearly academic enough to make this a regular trip, the way our friends from MSR do.

Instead, I stayed back in Seattle for the annual Microsoft Company Meeting. As always, Bill Gates was our biggest supporting, mentioning speech twice in his presentation:

Here's another photo taken on my Treo, aimed in the general direction of where the speech team was sitting.

I sure hope that your seat location doesn't reflect upon your status at Microsoft. (^_^)

Ha!  Very funny, but seating is mostly first-come first-served.

I think it's just that the speech team always tends to take the Long View on things.
