Snow everywhere
Sure enough, the storm has arrived. I won't be surprised if Microsoft campus shuts down again tomorrow. There are cars littered all over i-90, most of them parked quite orderly at the side of the road. Did they just run out of gas in the terrible, unmoving traffic? That wasn't a worry for me in my new Prius, but it took me almost five hours to get home -- two hours just to get out of the Microsoft campus!
Here's what this evening's Seattle Times says:
Particularly bad is eastbound I-90, which came to a near standstill after numerous accidents and spinouts on Mercer Island. Sections of I-5 also are bumper-to-bumper, said Dave McCormick, state Department of Transportation assistant regional administrator.
Lots of my co-workers on the Sammamish plateau are probably still out there in the snow. With the temperatures falling below freezing now, I bet the morning's going to be a doozy of a commute.
