Which headset do I use?

Marc asked me a question based on my recent post on how I use my headset instead of a phone.

I just read your article about using your headset both as a telephone and speech recognition device.  I agree with you, and I think more things will tend to shift this way in the future.  It just makes sense.

I'm curious what headset you're using, as I've been looking around myself for a similar item for my home office.  I'm pretty fussy about my speech recognition quality, though, so I suppose I am a difficult sale.

I'd appreciate your advice, as I'm sure you have had the opportunity to experiment with more things than I!

Answer: when I have a question about microphones, I ask Marty Markoe at emicrophones.com.  They have good descriptions and FAQs about microphones for speech there, and I trust their advice.

Incidentally, on my desk right now I'm using the Plantronics DSP 400.

Thanks, Richard.  It's always nice to find out what the experts actually use themselves.

I'll check Marty's shop out.  I bought my current desktop mike of choice there a while ago.  It's so great, I'm a bit hesitant to change, but I'm really interested in finding the "one 'device' to rule them all."
