&lt;p&gt;how do i install tools for my 2k8 express sp1 and/or when is MS going to release the 'SQL Server 2008 Express with tools sp1' package?&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;If you've already installed the SQL Express 2008 Express core package, you can install Management Studio from the links on &lt;a rel="nofollow" target="_new" href="http://www.microsoft.com/express/sql/download"&gt;http://www.microsoft.com/express/sql/download&lt;/a&gt;. Once that is installed you should scan your computer using Microsoft Update and it will detect the need to apply SP1 for Management Studio and allow you to select and install it from there.&lt;/p&gt;
