We really need the LinkIds that go directly to the SQLEXPR.EXE and SQLEXPR32.EXE downloads so they can be used in installer bootstrappers.  Having the complete product.xml and package.xml would be even better.

Is it true that "for SQL users not opting for SP3, Microsoft released Cumulative Update 11 for SQL Server 2005 SP2, which contains all of the hot fixes for SP2, without the new features in SP3?"

That was written at http://gcn.com/Articles/2008/12/17/SQL-Server-2005-SP3-released.aspx.

I support a third party application that runs on MSSQL and was certified for MSSQL 2005 SP2. The vendor says hotfixes to SP2 remain certified but that new service packs are not.

I hope staying with SP2 does not mean sacrificing security benefits.

Thanks
