Microsoft SQL Server 2005 SP3 and SQL Server 2008 SP1 and later versions are supported on Windows 7 and Window Server 2008 R2.
SQL Server 2005 Express Edition SP2 and SQL Server 2008 Express Runtime RTM are also supported on Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2.
