Random Things

  • Hacked together a prototype for my Orcas feature over a weekend. Not bad for a PM,eh? :-). Sorry, I can't tell you what it is...yet.

  • Spent a week at MEDC India at Bangalore and had an absolute blast. I did a data demo as part of the keynote which went well - though some of my jokes fell flat. Here's a photo of me and the rest of the Visual Studio for Devices gang at MEDC. Quite an attractive bunch, aren't we?
    VSD Team at MEDC Bangalore
  • I'm travelling to Redmond and Las Vegas the end of the month. So if you're anywhere near the Seattle area, drop me a mail and we can meet up. I'm going to Las Vegas to do a talk at  MEDC 2006. I'm doing APP320 - Web 2.0 and Mobile Devices. But more on that in later posts.

  • Hyderabad is getting really, really hot. Literally. When I stepped out of the flight from Bangalore, my body took a while to get used to heat. Who expects the temperature to be 38 degrees Celsius at 9 in the night?

  • I'm finally getting to contribute to some virtual machine development in Microsoft. Not in any official capacity, but it's really cool all the same.

  • Sql Everywhere is wicked. As in, really wicked.

  • Software engineering. At Microsoft, you really do understand what the word 'engineering' stands for. Example problem I'm faced with - you have a platform underneath you and you have to build something on top of that platform. How do you build both at the same time? And do so in a month?

  • My body clock is seriously out of whack. Too many late nights on the computer in the last year or so have resulted in my being unable to sleep till 4 AM in the morning. I've tried everything under the sun to get myself to sleep on time. But it really doesn't help counting sheep when you start thinking of how a search engine can use blog links and track conversations on the 5th sheep.

  • I need to come up with an excuse to meet this guy while I'm in Redmond. Though he doesn't know me :-)

Hi Sriram,

Every move you take in your life (be it personal or technical) you just keep motivating us! I am proud that you gonna fly soon to Redmond for some lectures or may be a speech sort of.

What ever keep coming up in life and achieve greater heights and keep motivating us with your spirits!

Congrats Sriram :)

Though college does not teach and guide a lot to me, you certainly do! I can't say I am proud of my college, all I could is, I am proud about my college since you studied there.!

Hey cool, your first visit to MS, Redmond I guess. Whats the talk about? And at Vegas!! Wow :-)

I will be in Redmond from May 9 onwards for 12 weeks.

"Hacked together a prototype for my Orcas feature over a weekend. Not bad for a PM,eh?" - Pretty neat ;-)

It seems you're using relative links to other blogs on blogs.msdn.com. This wacks out rss feeds.. just a suggestion..

Well how do u do that? any clues/books/sites on this type of problem. Really interested as I am facing the same issue :)
