SSDS at TechEd 2008

After a brief hiatus due to TechEd, we are back again.  Boy the humidity in Orlando was not fun.  I would walk from the Peabody to the convention center which is less than a 8 min walk and would find myself needing another shower.  So I started carrying a change of clothing with me.  The problem I have with heat and humidity is interesting given I was born and raised in Calcutta, India and spent 12 years in New Orleans, LA.  In any case it is good to be back in Seattle.

Between several people spending time at TechEd and the other little problem of my access getting shut down due to password change, the team blog was silent.  Apologize for that.  Now we are all back from TechEd 2008.  At TechEd 2008 we launched the SSDS Dev Center here.  Dave Campbell demonstrated how SQL Server, SQL Server Data Services and Microsoft Synch Framework can be used to build on the concept of an active Data Hub.  If you have not seen the demo, you can find it here.  You can also find the description of how the demo was built here and here.  At TechEd 2008 in Orlando, we presented in 3 breakout sessions and had couple of chalk talks.  I will post the material once it shows up on TechEd Online.  Niraj Nagrani, David Robinson and I did a TechTalk session as well.  Will post the link as soon as it gets posted.

On the execution front, we are close to finishing Sprint 3.  We are now in ASK MODE for bug fixing - which means we need explicit permission from shiproom to take a fix.  Should be done with this in a week or two.  I will post the new feature set as soon as we release to operations.  Will be back when that happens.
