Singapore Imagine Cup 2007 Results!

The Top 16 teams have been announced! If you have received an email from us, you have made it to the next round. Congratulations to the semi-finalists! In this next round, you will be developing prototypes of the proposals that you submitted.

Tips

Think about this year's theme. How does your solution use software to enable better education for all? You must be able to answer this question clearly and crisply.
The judges' for the semi-finalists are your respective directors and deans. You must be able to convince them on many levels: the problem you are addressing is real, the idea you have is sound, the prototype you built actually solves the problem, etc.
Work hard! I think this goes without saying, but you're not going to win if you're not willing to put in the time and effort.
Use mentors wisely. Get a mentor if you don't already have one. I'm sure your respective schools will be more than happy to help out. But don't get too many. Too many = many different opinions and that's the last thing you want.

Three Days Left to Compete in the Singapore Imagine Cup

That's right! Only 3 days left to join and submit your proposals!!!

The following is a letter I wrote to the Imagine Cup competitors yesterday:

Believe it or not, the end of Round 1 is fast approaching for the Software Design Invitational (SDI) in Singapore. On March 15 (only 3 days away!!), Round 1 will close for Singapore SDI competitors, and our judges will begin evaluating the many exciting entries we will receive.

If you haven’t started working on your proposal yet, you still have time – but the clock is ticking! If you have already started, it’s time to start putting the final touches on the proposal and get ready to submit it:

Step 1: Download the Proposal Template.
Step 2: Work on your proposal with your team to fit this year’s theme of Education.
Step 3: Send in your proposal to ic2007sg@microsoft.com by March 15 (11:59PM at the latest).

And as I’m sure you’ve already heard, we’ve partnered with MDA on a Game Development category. If you utilize Microsoft XNA in your Software Design Invitational solution, you qualify for additional prizes including an XBox 360 for the top XNA solution! (Yes, you can win the Game Development category even if you don’t win the overall competition, but then again, you might win both!)
