James just sent me a link to this research from Spatial-literacy.org and after entering my postcode I was informed that I live in an area of e-Experts (which would explain all of the WEP enabled WiFi on my street). It is explained as:

"These people are heavy email users. Many of them are involved in the development of information technology applications at work, and see leisure time spent on electronic technologies as enhancing their human capital"

Guilty as charged m'lud.

Next up, I am I am e-Committed

This Type finds it easy to acquire and master new technologies. The use of electronic technologies fits comfortably with the lifestyle which these people enjoy, which has a modern edge to it. These people rely on the Internet for information, though to a slightly lesser extent than those in type H23, and are active purchasers of goods and services over the Internet

Have these people been hiding outside my house? Put the cuffs on me now officer. Guilty again.

The classifications represent the largest ever academic research programme into the impact of digital technologies and the Internet on society.  To read more on the research check out this link: http://www.york.ac.uk/res/e-society/ but before doing that go check your postcode and let me know if you score higher or lower so I can plan my next house move :)

Very interesting stuff. Expect to see a BBC program about it sometime soon I reckon and expect to see Microsoft Partners flocking to the land of yellow!
