The PC is 25 years old today - the Apple Lisa came out a few years earlier but the IBM PC which has kept me and most of my friends and family gainfully employed over much of that 25 years is being toasted all over the web today. It'll be toasted in my house tonight with some Stormhoek.

will it be here in another 25 years though? well my mobile phone has many multiples of the computing and storage space of PC's only 10 years old and weighs a lot less.
