Chris has added a couple of great cartoons to bLaugh this week. The first is a timely reminder that I should get out more this weekend and stop spamming my team with email. Chris's inbox is creaking under the load :)

A Sign From Above

The second reminded me of a conversation I had with Darren about using Technorati more intelligently to move up the MSDN blog rankings. We're both slowly making our way up there being 121st and 169th respectively out of around 3000.

aTruth in Blogging

I've been playing with a lot of the bloggers toolkit over the last few weeks. Technorati and Flickr are my new friends though I'm not sold on Digg. It just seems a bit too hard to get Digg capability on your site and there seems to be an awful lot of ego digging going on. Techmeme gets my vote over Digg (which I'm sure is going to send Digg in to a spin overnight!). I'm learning more stuff every day about blogging and starting to find my true voice I think. We had a good bloggers get together this week for Microsoft UK staff and though only a few people turned up it was a useful forum for sharing ideas about what to blog, what not to, when to blog, tools to use, writing headlines and more. We also had a good chat about the highs and lows of controversial blogging - it gets you some hits for sure but also gets you a few "hits" internally if you're not careful. Overall though, the support for blogging in Microsoft UK is great and it's good to see more and more staff (and not just techies) joining the conversation.
