Geek In Disguise

I read a great story in the Times Educational Supplement last week about teachers using Messenger to help kids do homework and raise the students grades.

The City of Lincoln Community College has seen success with last year’s grade results too. The pupils, teachers and parents all participated in learning how to use Messenger and other services in a responsible but fun way. Pupils got to speak with their teachers on a 1:1 level and got personal coaching and tuition, teachers got to build their trust and impact on the pupils and also managed to get a better work life balance as a result, and parents learnt that their children were doing homework and revision at the same time as socializing. Amazing and true!

These are the kind of stories that need to be heard more often but I guess they don't make good press. Seriously, it's cool stuff - check out learning.live.com
