Just in time for the Capital Of Culture 2008 to kick off, Microsoft's Virtual Earth team have released 3D imagery of my home town. I spent yesterday wowing the family by flying over features like the Royal Liver Buildings and St George's Hall. I even showed my Mum her favourite spot in Sefton Park - The Palm House.

Plenty of mahsup potential here for lots of businesses who will be getting more visibility from the 2008 festivities.

The image above shows the so called Three Graces and in the distance St John's Tower, the Catholic Cathedral (aka Paddy's Wigwam) and the glorious Anglican Cathedral. The images are pretty up to date too as you can see the construction work at the pier head and just to the left one of the new Beetham Towers.
