We (Pixeltree Technologies) are the official distributor of this innovative product in Sub-Saharan Africa.
This device is, firstly, a thin client computer. This, combined with it's ultra low power consumption (5W) and zero desk space useage, would obviously make it the perfect low-power thin client. Not only would it consume very little power, but it also fully POE compliant, which would reduce the cables required. Also, once it is inserted into it's housing (which typically is secured in the wall), it cannot be removed without a special tool. This would make it ideal for use in places where theft is prevelant.
Other possible uses would be industrial locations (since the device is entirely solid state), or applications where ultra high security is required (since the device can be completely locked down remotely). Examples of this would be government departments (eg the treasury) or banks.
This device is also capable of connectiong directly to legacy services (such as AS/400 mainframes). This would make it ideal for use in senarios where users only need to connect to a mainframe (or similar text-based environment), without the need for any additional hardware and/or software.
Also, because the device runs Windows CE .NET, developing custom software is greatly simplified. (By the way, the OS and firmware are virus immune.)
I am sure the list of innovative uses goes on and on. If anyone requires any additional information, please do not hesitate to contact chippc@pixeltree.co.za.
If it powers Vista it could go nicely in my kitchen. Perhaps time to get rid of the small 12" portable TV and replace with this and an LCD display?
Is it too sad reading tweets and RSS over a bagel and a coffee?
nah, runs Windows CE Jas...nope, not sad at all. that would be responding to Zombie bullshit on FB :)
I could imagine clients pluggin another computer into it.
Have you seen this small Linux PC?

Not sure what it could be used for?

Well, like you say, it runs CE so that means it can run terminal services client - run a session to a central media server giving access to Windows Media Player in every room?
Admittedly things like the Pinnacle Soundbridge (<url=http://www.pinnaclesys.com/PublicSite/uk/Products/Consumer+Products/Digital+Media+Adapters/Digital+Media+Player/SoundBridge+HomeMusic.htm>here</url>) can do something similar for £40 (and I've got one and it's awesome!) but something like this would extend its capabilities to video also...

^^^ oops sorry about lack of HTML knowledge...
Another use is for something like a training room - we currently have 5 HP thin clients plus 17" LCDs which we use for connecting to a training server. If we had these things on the wall it would be a much neater solution...
