&lt;p&gt;just an interesting juxtaposition of the two companies and the way they think....I think.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;you can read it many ways which is often the beauty of Hugh's cartoons. you could for example say that Google is looking to become more of an enterprise software comany (GAPE) whilst Microsoft is a sofwtare company that is extending it's apps to the Internet but remains a software driven company vs. an Internet advertising driven business. again, neither are right or wrong...more observational. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;please don't interpret the fact I work for MSFT as me bashing Google every time I write about them :)&lt;/p&gt;
