Oh. I have been tagged by Tad Anderson. I never do chain letters. But I suppose this is different.
Here are the 5 things you probably don't know about me:
1. My first programming job was in 1965 writing programs in machine code for a Ferranti computer that used valves (USA tubes) for its logic, cathode ray tubes for its RAM and a magnetic drum for its backing store.
2. The scariest thing I ever did was when I had a job for the BBC that involved climbing TV transmitting aerial masts to adjust the aerials at the top. I left that job quickly.
3. During the 1970s I spent 5 years full-time making a living as a musician, playing double bass and bass guitar for jazz, rock and commercial gigs and sessions. I still play at a professional standard.
4. As a teenager I was a licensed radio ham, and I could do 35 words per minute of Morse code.
5. I once gave a talk at a C++ conference called “Why I love Smalltalk”.
