Once upon a time...
Once upon a time in my early high school days when the internet was shaping up to be what it is today, I was in the back of a computer skills class having a conversation with a girl that I really liked. I don't remember exactly what we were discussing but I was trying to be as cool and collected as possible. At the end of the convo she said, "OK Stanley, I'll e-mail you about it later". I just nodded and said, "OK". After a few seconds of uncomfortable silence passed, this girl who knew me all to well asked, "You don't know what e-mail is, do you?". "No", I replied even though it was already obvious that I didn't. She came over to my computer and walked through me through the email setup process at what used to be MailExcite.com
Back in those days I always resisted new trends and tried to be the cool guy who didn't need "all that stuff". I was probably one of the last people on-board when community-based things like Chat Rooms, Messengers, and Napster became popular in the 1990s. Well, fast forward to 2005 and those days are long gone. Now, I love to explore and converse about new technologies. Everyone's blogging nowadays and telling me how fun and cool it is so I may as well give it a try.
I recently became a Consultant at Enterprise Engineering Center at Microsoft after a few summer internships here and 5 years of undergrad Comp Sci studies at USC (Fight On, #1 Trojans). My duties here include helping mostly large-scale Microsoft customers build and test modifications to their networks which use our many Server software products, and doing what I can to help any customers with Windows Server issues This blog will be updated weekly with my experiences at the EEC, adjusting to the corporate world, and whatever else seems interesting.
Happy Holidays!
