… can help, I think, to understand better what we’re working on, and how to take advantage of the Mobility for your own business.
Enjoy it.
Going Mobile with Microsoft Dynamics
The first news comes from the Microsoft Live Labs and I personally like it (using and founding it useful).
They released a new project called Thumbtack. On the main page we can read that Thumbtack is a new and easy way to save anything you want on the web, like links, photos, personal notes and so on, manage them with the Thumbtack Collection, and then use them anywhere you can get online.
Some years ago, when OneNote was added to the Office suite, I started to use it and I really found it so useful; this little program allows me to manage all my stuff, putting schema, picture, notes, and all the things from my clipboard together. Today Thumbtack looks so close to OneNote, but with some advantages that comes from the Web platform (and last but not least it is also free :D )
If you want to try it, you can find more information on the Team's blog, or on the Project's page.
The other, nice, news comes from the Windows Live SkyDrive service. Ok, I think quite all know that now the, free, store space grown up to 25 GB (COOL!!).
But the really cool new feature, in my opinion, is the one that allow us to download entire folders as a .zip file, and I think it's really useful, especially if you're working with pictures or a lot of related documents (and I'm sure that my friend Jan will find it so nice).
Enjoy it!
Ops.. They did it again!
The patterns & practices guys released a new application block: Unity Application Block 1.2 for Silverlight.
This is more an update than a new release, or better a port of the Unity Application Block 1.2 to Microsoft Silverlight.
The Unity Application Block is a lightweight, extensible dependency injection container with optional support for instance and type interception. All these ranting words mean that Unity (the short name for friends :-D ) is like a box where you can assemble together many components from different projects to produce new programs.
On the other hand, Microsoft Silverlight is one of the coolest news from Microsoft: it is a cross-browser, cross-platform implementation of the Microsoft .NET Framework for building and delivering the next generation of media experiences and rich interactive application for the Web.
This is one of the main reason why they made this new release: Silverlight is a porting of the .Net Framework, so it has some differences from the desktop CLR and some capabilities of the Unity Container have been "tuned up" to meet the new requirements.
To find more information you can go here.
The new Windows Mobile Training site is live, with a completely new interface, more resources, courses and information about all the things related to the mobile's world.
So, if you want to know the latest news or "simply" more about your device, or you want to develop for Windows Mobile, or you're planning to get your Certification and so on, maybe this can be the right place for you.
Enjoy it!
And this time these words have more than one meaning.
But I think it's better to go step by step.
First: WE RELEASED!!
Yes! After a big effort for all of us we just released another version of our software, the 1.5 version.
I think the best place where you can find detailed info about all the things related to our software is the Dynamics Mobile's Team Blog and this article is the one focused on the new release (if you missed it before).
Second: Roskilde Festival + Microsoft Dynamics Mobile = ROCK!!
I know that this sound a bit strange, but let me explain you.
Roskilde Festival is one of the biggest music festival in Europe. With a big problem every year: the waste management.
Using Microsoft Dynamics (on the backend) and our stuff, Microsoft Dynamics Mobile, a Microsoft Partner developed in a very short time, a cool application to help solve this problem, proving how flexible and solid can be our platform.
Check this post to see a little video about this "case study".
At the first sight, it's look like another website/portal about Architecture. And maybe it's like that. But seem that the start is a little bit different from the others and this new site can be also a very good point of start to help Architect and Professional IT to find a good path to solve problems, to share experiences and knowledge about our job.
What am I talking about? I'm talking about the new Architect Center, an "alpha-release" community to help the IT Architect to join together or better, as they say:
Our purpose is to provide architects with the community and tools necessary to work together to develop and syndicate an Architectural Body of Knowledge
After a long time the new AC/DC album is out, and someone want to celebrate this great news with Excel. How?
Enjoy the new video inside your Excel at this link: http://www.acdcrocks.com/excel/

PEX, Program EXploration, is a new Automated Test Tool that promise to help developers to control better their code. With a simple menu, integrated in Visual Studio, the user can decide to analyze an entire class or a single method.
This new suite, from the Microsoft DevLabs, produce a parameterized unit test with an high code coverage, doing a program analysis (called white box analysis) and producing a input-output pairs value that will target the “boundary” condition in the code. The parameterized tests produced reduce also the maintenance costs comparing to traditional unit test.
So… now, we have to test the Test Tool!
Download PEX
[UPDATE] PS: Maybe not all the people want to try right now the 2010 version. So, if you want to test and use the package for VS2008 try this: PEX download
With VisualSage for Facebook it’s possible to use your Facebook account on your desktop, using many Facebook’s feature with a “SUPER COOL” new interface developed with Windows Presentation Foundation.
And it’s 100% FREE.
Try it!
Too much feeds on my computer. Too much “Favorites” . So why don’t put in order or at least try to do it, specially on my “development” links?
Ok, let’s start!
I found a new free book about C#. Ok, there are a lot of books about C#, but a good, and FREE, book about this very important language is always a good thing to have and maybe to share with someone. So, if you want to start study, you want to refresh or improve your C# awareness or “simply” you want to add another book on your “bookshelf”, I hope you’ll find this link useful: Rob Miles C# book
On September, due to the SP1 release (and not only) a refresh also to the Visual Studio 2008 Training Kit is needed. This post I think is one of the best “start point”: Allan´s blog post
Do you want to start or to improve your “development” carrier? It’s time to Ramp Up!!
Ok… it’s a joke, but the design is pretty cool

“Hello, world”.
The usual start for a lot of programming language books. So.. Why not also for my new blog?
First at all, welcome to my new blog. My name is Stefano Paluello, and I joined Microsoft some months ago, on the MAG, Mobile Application Group, inside the Microsoft Business Solution at the Microsoft Development Center Copenhagen.
In this blog I’ll write about my job @ Microsoft and inside my great new team, my passion for the code, the design and all the things related to my strange world.
Ciao, Stefano.
