  • The Next Big Gaming Platform: SQL Server?!

I realize that I'm normally off-topic, so it's weird for me to actually be blogging about SQL Server on my vacation... Figures. I've blogged before about the Real Reason™ that most guys my age (at least in the USA) got into software development: video games. Back in my day, they wasen't even much "video" in our games. MUDs, MUCKs and MOOs were all text-based multiplayer games (think Zork over the internet)... But that didn't stop many guys I knew from flunking out of college for playing games instead

  • Community Day 2008 – 12 sessions by 9 user groups

Yesterday the second Belgian Community Day took place in Keerbergen. I joined in a bit later due to some meetings at the office but it was still more than worth it. Nine Belgian User Groups joined in this year to organize a day “For the Community, By the Community”. I would like to thank all the people involved into getting this organized, I know it was a lot of work these last months. Special thanks to Ilse and Gill as they really made sure eveything was running. When I got there, halfway during

  • Sooo....how do we get students interested in technology?

The age old question of "how do we get more students interested in STEM (science tech engineering math) has come up one too many times.  It's time for me to write what I know (so here you go!):     A couple programs Microsoft created to help students get interested in technology: http://s2b.experience.com/alumnus/channel?channel_id=microsoft_s2b&page_id=home http://www.microsoft.com/about/diversity/programs/digigirlz.mspx   Some ideas on leveraging technology
