  • Support Guidelines : Microsoft Support Lifecycle policy for product support?

What do you mean by Microsoft Support Lifecycle policy? Microsoft Support Lifecycle policy provides consistent and predictable guidelines for product support availability when a product releases and throughout that product’s life. The Microsoft Support Lifecycle policy took effect in October 2002, and applies to most products currently available through retail purchase or volume licensing and most future release products. Through the policy, Microsoft will offer a minimum of: 10 years of support

  • Tutorial : Organizational Forms Library - Series # 2

Can we create it programmatically? To create it programmatically using MAPI, we need to make use of CreateFolder() , the MAPI function. It is necessary to have very special privileges (obtained by opening the store with an EntryID created using IExchangeManageStore::CreateStoreEntryID()) to get it to work. Please refer the following KB to create Org. forms library programmatically. How to create Org. Forms Library in Exchange Server 2003 ? To create a new Organizational Form in Exchange Server 2003

  • CASPOL & Add-in : How to Full trust the assemblies ?

If we want to "fully trust" the assemblies, it can be done through the signed assemblies. In Visual Studio 2005, you need to select the Properties for the project and select the Signing tab.  After you installed (including the newly signed assemblies) you need to give permission to the assemblies. This can be done using a tool called CASPOL.EXE. The CASPOL or Code Access Security Policy tool enables users and administrators to modify security policy for the machine policy level, the

  • CDOSYS breaks after removing Outlook Express.

Yep, that will do it. There is a relationship between CDOSYS and Outlook Express. So, you should not remove Outlook Express if you ever expect to use CDOSYS or have anything which uses CDOSYS work properly. Some people get very ambitious about security and start ripping-out software which they don't think is needed - however, Outlook Express is not something you would really want to remove. Outlook Express sets the defaults of CDOSYS with its default profile.

  • How to work with Item and Folder Permissions using WebDAV?

Permissions to folders and items can be read and changed via WebDAV using an XML descriptor. It’s also possible to use other APIs such as ADO update security settings. An XML descriptor is an XML document in a string which describes security permissions to an item or folder. A PROPFIND is used to read security information. PROPPATCH is used to update the permission. Here is what a descriptor looks like: Example Descriptor in XML http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/en-us/wss/wss/_exch2k_example_descriptor_in_xml.asp?frame=true
