&lt;p&gt;If it wasn't consistently reproducible it would be a lot harder to live debug since we wouldnt be able to repro in a test environment. &lt;/p&gt;

I tried to create a custom sitemap (using the sitemap provider class ) that derived the sitemap from a given XMLdocument object that was created from a number of single dynamic XMLdocuments. And I get the stack overflow too. I am yet to look at a work around for the problem. I can maybe get away with a physical XML file of a name i choose and not the default web.sitemap (if this is possible) as the file needs to be generated when the application starts as it is all dynamic.&lt;/p&gt;
