It's a pretty easy read; it's true what they said. Most windows have a taskbar button you can use to activate them"

I've always wondered about this. What about the windows that don't appear in the taskbar and have no clear "owning" application? Is there a fast way to access them?

I think I've run into examples where the window doesn't show up under Alt+Tab but does exist. It's pretty frustrating, especially when it gets sent to the back of the other windows and you have to minimize everything else to find it. :)

I've also seen windows that don't have a taskbar button, don't show up in Flip3D, but do show up in Alt+Tab.

I can't remember exactly which "app" it was, but I've also found this to be the case somewhere in OSX. When you hit Exposé, even if it's the active window, it fades away.

I really wonder what the reasoning behind allowing this is (in any operating system).
