Silverlight information and some cool videos around it
So there has been a lot of information released around Silverlight and the new version which works with ASP.NET (Silverlight 2.0).
There have been some amazing videos created showing off all that Silverlight can do. For example:
And the really cool AOL Mail Demo:
I have even posted about DeepZoom which there is a cool video of:
And finally, there is a great video around a common user interface for Clinical Applications:
Now Silverlight 2.0 is still in Beta, there is good information around the timeline of things on ScottGu’s blog: .NET Web Product Roadmap (ASP.NET, Silverlight, IIS7). This is really exciting technology that allows designers and developers to really integrate in a way never seen before. Developers, using the Expression suite, can not only create a mock-up of the interface, but they can actually create it. And the same files will plug right into Visual Studio to allow the developers to hook up the events and create the code that will work with the interface.
Silverlight is something that is a great technology that really moves the web forward. It will allow a whole new level of interaction from a web site. If you don’t believe me, check out some of the samples that have already been created like:
