&lt;p&gt;They allow you to not have to compile the files. &amp;nbsp;They are already native to the machine. &amp;nbsp;So it loads faster.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;ni stands for Native Image. &amp;nbsp;Because the file is now compiled for that particular platform.&lt;/p&gt;
