Changing Times

It’s hard to believe that I have been with Microsoft for almost six years. I started in early 2000 as part of Microsoft Consulting Services and about two years later moved into my current role as the Developer Evangelist for New England. It’s been an amazing experience as the DE for New England. I have had the chance to interact with some of the best people here locally and across the world. The amount of passion and excitement the community has is incredible. There hasn’t been a day that goes by in the past four years that I haven’t heard a story about some cool application people are working on.

It’s with some sadness but a lot of excitement that I am announcing that I have accepted a new position within Microsoft. I will be taking on a new opportunity as the Director for .NET Platform Marketing. Of all the things that I can think of doing within Microsoft this was at the top. It’s an opportunity to work with some of the smartest people and one of the best groups within Microsoft. (Ok I realize I am a bit biased). Yes, I will be relocating to Redmond and No this blog won’t go away!

Having been part of the developer community here in New England for the last several years has been an experience that I will miss and never forget. The developer community is an incredible place. The passion and technical experiences that every developer brings is something that we should all be proud of.

Keep an eye here over the next couple of weeks as things start to firm up a bit more with moves and everything else. I understand that we will be announcing the next Code Camp in the coming weeks as well!

Dear Tom,

Just a note to wish you much good luck in your new undertaking with Microsoft.  Also, thank you for speaking before our group, Sales and Marketing Toastmasters, a few months ago, your speech was terrific.  At any rate, goodbye and good luck as Edgar R. Murrow would have said.

Immediate Past President
