Protecting your mail from the scum of the internet
Classic Viagra spam

It's been a while since I processed the spam abuse inbox, but I came across the following spam message today.

Usee \/ i a g r /\ Proo and all wmoen wiill be yorus. Etxend the qualtiy
of yoour sxeual perfromance with Ge |\| eerik \/ i a g r /\.

This takes me back to my spam processing days and uses many of the time-tested spammer tactics: obfuscation of the word "viagra" and "generic" using spaces, and then using ascii characters to replace the letter A and N.  I must say that I haven't seen the N-obfuscation in a long, long time.  Then, they obfuscate the spelling of every other word in the message.

These spamming tricks have been around for a long time.  They still have yet to go away.  I've said it once and I'll say it again, some things never change.
