Demoing 101

Welcome to our blog.

I say "our" because this is going to be a team blog, one that hopefully will provide you with details, insight, and information about what our team does, and perhaps how some of our work might be helpful to you in your work.

I run a small development team within the "Evangelism" group at Microsoft. Our charter is to focus on developing, researching, and coordinating demos of our technologies that can be used both internally and externally to help developers understand the potential of our various platform technologies, and how they might be able to use them within the solutions that they are preparing.

In future posts, we intend to provide details on some of the demos we are working on, some of the coding insights we've encountered to achieve various things, some of the user interface concepts we are utilizing, and perhaps even some details about the specific technologies we are thinking need to be better visualized.

Demos are a combination of Science, Art, and Religion. They embody both what is possible, as well as would could be possible. They are also not just the mechanics of the applications being run, but the way they are presented to the audience. The stage is set, the lights are on... it's showtime!
