Limited places left at Academic Insight Conference June 2007

We blogged about the Academic Insight conference a while ago but as there is only a few places left, I thought I would bring it back to your attention just in case you haven't seen our previous announcement.

The Academic Insight Conference is run in conjunction by Microsoft and DevelopMentor and takes a deep look into the .NET platform from an academic perspective, working from the ground up to the latest additions to .NET, that make it a rich and productive platform for education and widespread use in industry.

Since last year, we have made several major investments in the .NET Framework that coincide with the release of a number of new products and technologies:

  • Windows Vista ships with the .NET Framework 3.0 and has a radical new UI framework (WPF), communications stack built on standards (WCF) and workflow automation (WF)
  • Silverlight is a cross browser and cross platform internet plug-in technology that enables educators to teach students how to develop for the media rich web.
  • The next version of Visual Studio and .NET Framework have major language enhancements such as dynamic languages and an integrated query language (LINQ) for object/data access
  • ASP.NET Ajax has shipped and is now the cornerstone of the Microsoft web platform for creating rich standards compliant websites.

This course is the perfect way to get deep skills on all of the above technologies and to take that knowledge and bring it back to your department, for courses, student projects or just to simply stay ahead of your students. If this sounds like something you could really get your teeth into, find out more here!

Hope to see you there!

Kate
