Your invite to our events at GameCity

GameCity is an annual event held in Nottingham from October 24th-28th. As part of this, the Microsoft Academic team and Rare are running 2 events: the first for academics, the second for students on Thursday October 25th.

The Academic Event is an invitation only event for lecturers of Games Development and will be held at the Sir Paul Smith designed cinema at the Broadway Media Centre between 2pm and 6pm. This anticipated follow up to our XNA launch at Warwick University last December will feature talks and demos on XNA including Insights from professional games developers, work done by academics on our XNA pilot programme and students using XNA within their projects. If you are an academic at a UK university then please email me i-claipe@microsoft.com to receive further information and to reserve your seat.

From 7pm that evening, we will join our colleagues from Rare and the Xbox team at Bluu for the FreePlay Lounge. Students are invited to come along and challenge the creators of Perfect Dark Zero, meet the designers of Kameo and Viva Pinata, sign up for the Imagine Cup, win Halo 3 merchandise and much more.... all washed down with a beverage or two. Academics are invited to join us and to take the opportunity to recruit potential students onto your courses. Again, if you are a UK academic and would like to come along and bring some of your students to this event then please email me at i-claipe@microsoft.com
